He studied at UCLA and Stanford University, where he received his doctorate in 1974. The tutor was the famous professor Arthur Kornberg (who won the Nobel Prize in 1959). In 1976, scheckman worked at the University of California, Berkeley, where he is currently a professor in the Department of molecular and cell biology and a researcher at the Howard Hughes Institute of medicine. He was the chief editor of proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. In 1992, he was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences. In 2002, he won the Lasker prize for basic medicine for his research on cell membrane transport with James Rothman. 2013 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine.

Research fields: clinical drug treatment of cancer and stem cells

Professor sheckman has been a researcher at the Howard Hughes Institute of medicine since 1991. An experiment on molecular description of membrane modules and vesicle transport processes in eukaryotic cells was carried out at the University of California, Berkeley, Sherman laboratory. Professor sherkman's main research fields are clinical drug therapy, new anti-tumor drugs, tumor etiology, tumor molecular biology progress and metastasis mechanism, tumor immunity, stem cell research, nervous system diseases, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, biological human engineering intelligence, and yeast research.
